If you run the cooler, though, you lower your oil temps and you can then
run lower viscosity oil and thereby alleviate the problems of pumping
cold oil.

By your statements above about the cooler not provide significant engine
cooling ability, then you are invalidating your argument above.
Besides, that aluminum block is much better at shedding the heat than
our cast iron behemoths. Cooler oil is better oil, in my opinion. Given
the small cost of the cooler, it seems like a reasonable investment. I'm
not saying the cost of the cooler exceeds the benefits. It's one of
those diminishing returns type of mods.

Definitely agree with you about getting the cooling system in good order
before you grab the oil cooler. I'm just giving you a hard time, Jim.
Our V8 conversion is still not finished. I'm jealous, so I'm poking fun
at you. :0

Take care

BTW. the original radiator on my MGB was impaled by the fan on my '70
B's engine last summer. I went to Atlanta Imported Auto (great place by
the way) and bought a new radiator at the tune of over $200. Whadaya
know. The new frickin' radiator cools worse than the OLD, original
radiator. The hell with that Taiwanese crap from Moss. I'm going to
recore my old one. I know I'm bashing some of Moss' stuff, but I am
more inclined to complain about the bad things they sell, rather than
the good stuff. I stated in another post earlier today I have spent
over $2500 with Moss. Some good stuff. Some bad stuff.
