I was just helping my friend work on a '69 B roadster, a very original
car which has been in storage for 17 years. The radio was certainly the
same vintage as the car, but I would have said it was a dealer-installed
unit. It had a brushed metal bezel with the name "Monte Carlo" in script
and a crossed-racing-flags logo (like a Corv****). One would almost think
that in US cars the radio would typically be installed at the dealer. My
'66 B came with a British Motor Corporation-branded radio with a black
wrinkle-finish bezel that matched the dashboard, and a chrome trim ring
(just like the radio blanking plate kit). But this wouldn't match the
interior of your '69.
In other words, I don't know, but I thought I might offer up some
potential clues.
