God knows why I am admitting this to the list, but what the heck. <G> I
found the source of the noise! I took the rocker cover off and one of the
adjusting nuts had come right off!! The clearance had increased hugely! I
musn't have tightened it enough.. hmm.. :(( durr. Well, lucky I checked
anyway as I found another problem. I went and rechecked the clearances and
along the way I found that the #8 locknut had totally stripped itself of
thread! Another disaster waiting to happen. Anyway so I've replaced it. I'll
let y'all know how it drives now! <G> But suffice to say I can hardly hear
the tappets now. Good lord, lock those nuts people! <G>
