I managed to remove my 1980 MG Steering wheel only by putting a puller on
it, tightening it up somewhat, then using a propane torch to heat up the
wheel hub around the spindle. After what seemed like forever, it finally
popped off. I had exhaused all other sources. When I reassembled the wheel
onto the spindle, I applied an anti-seize compound so this would not occur
again.

Hope this helps.
