from Email for 3 days, god how horrible! ;)
I'm all ready to fit new goodies to my A this weeked. 3 core hi-perf
radiator with 1/3rd more cooling capacity (130+row), thermostatically
controlled fan, not to mention try out my new carbs I fitted last weekend
and.. oh god.. I forgot.. I have to refit that stupid temp gauge. Arggh!!
BUT all that pales into comparason when compared to the pig of a week I've
had trying to remove my front hubs from my Wire wheeled MGA.. The RHS hub is
bound on the kingpin, or the bearing is. No amount of beatin', pulling with
tyre attached, or even god help me, crowbar intervention will remove this
sucker. I have new rotors to go on, and all new bearings. I reported to the
list that I had a squeal from the RHS wheel, I think I now know why. I will
try TWO crow bars tomorrow (I only have one!), but does anybody have any
other suggestions? I also presume my kingpin spindle will be stuffed? What
could have caused this in the first place? Lack of lubrication?
Anyway, a laugh for y'all out there. After nearly killing myself with this
hub, so I went to the other side. Of course, I was expecting a battle.
Instead, the hub/rotor assembly shot off and landed smack on my ankle. <G> I
am limping *rather* badly at the moment!! *sob*
Help, someone, before I go totally mental.. <G>
(Kidding, this is fun!, I'll *beat* this blasted hub if it's the last thing
I do!! :)
