I recently learned that there is a difference between the MGA
early(1500) and later (1600) transmissions, or at least the bell
housings. I have been saving a pristine MGA tranny, still crated, as a
spare for my 1958 1500 MGA and now think the tranny is for a 1600 MGA.
Can anyone inform me as to the difference between the 2 trannies, if in
fact there is a difference? The starter opening on my spare tranny is
quite high in the bell housing. My MGA is parked in my shop in such a
way that I can't easily get to it to inspect the tranny.
