Mike,

    DO NOT TRUST A MOTOMETER! (shout intended).  They only give a reasonable
reading if the bottom of the tube is immersed in coolant.  TDs have a tendency 
to
throw the top inch or so of coolant out of the overflow tube.  As a result, the
Motometer bulb is riding high and dry after a while.  Do your TD a favor and
install a combo gauge.
