Most American cars and some Imports have a second "ON" position, often
the far side of the ignition ON, especially for the radio, etc.

Neither my Mini nor my MG have this feature, so I just ran a wire from a
fused always hot terminal on the fuse array to a switch on the dash and
feed the radio, etc. from that.
