I don't run red lights either, and it infuriates me that I constantly see
others run them.  The cameras, however, are not the solution.  They are only
profit making ventures and it has even been documented that the yellow time
is shortened so that they can "write" more tickets.  Used properly, they may
have some value, but as of now, they are only as good as those responsible
for how they are used, and those responsible are more interested in making
money than safer hiways.
BTW, they are not used in MI...yet.
