I guess if you have long skinny arms you could try this.  The filter is
mounted in the center of the tank near the drain plug, there is also one
baffle between the sender and pickup, it has a larger opening than the
sending unit hole but I don't remember if it is aligned with it or not.  I
suppose that if you could reach in there you might be able to tear the
filter apart so that the pickup would work but I don't know.
