All this talk of being paid for doing newsletters and/or having the
grateful club help out on equipment needs and service makes me realize
just how long (off and on) I've been doing this sort of thing. Longer ago
than I care to mention, I edited the newsletter for my local SCCA region.
When the treasurer got wind of problems I'd been having with my
typewriter, he authorized payment by the region of all repairs on same.
That's about as close to "being paid" as I ever got, though.
