While I agree with Andy and the others on the DOT 5 issue...(I switched
last year after changing over the entire braking system...hoses, pipes, and
M/C)...I wonder if the "longevity" issue might have been confused from the
product claims that the LMA fluid should be changed every two years or so
while the Silicone fluid needs only to be changed every five years or so?
ie, maybe the claims to longevity were misunderstood and rather than
meaning the brake system lasted longer, it is the fluid that lasts
longer...my .02 (at current exchange rates, that is more than .03 cdn) <g>
