Spitfliers,

My 1500 motor(s) does not blow oil out of the dipstick
tube when using ZS, Weber, or SU carbs. No problem.
The valve cover vent works just fine. I use the
hole in the DGV air cleaner when running that carb.

You don't need "vacuum" to relieve "pressure".
The crankcase vapors have enough (very
little needed) pressure to find their way out of
the valve cover and through the hose to their
final destination. Why not burn the vapors instead
dumping them into the air?

If you are blowing oil out the dipstick tube, the
PCV tube/hose is blocked, or you have excessive
blow-by (indicating a very worn motor). The air
pump has absolutely nothing to do with this.
