All of this talk of opening the bonnet with gas struts has got me
thinking that it must also be really easy to do the same for opening the
boot. In theory it could be a straight bolt-in as long as the compressed
and uncompressed lengths were the same as the existing strut. I think I
might take some measurements and have a look around next time I go to a
scrap yard. Has anyone attempted this?
