Shannon,

I've been using my '65 Sprite as a daily driver for a year. I had very
little mechanical experience before this beyond keeping a couple of VWs on
the road in college. There have been a couple of times that I needed
alternative transport because I did not get a task completed by Monday
morning (brakes) or the car just broke unexpectedly (twisted half shaft --
I have _got_ to take it easier!). I don't baby the car, though I do garage
it both at home and at work. I take it everywhere, though I try to stay off
of I-285, the perimeter road around Atlanta that even Richard Petty
refuses to travel due to the idiots at speed. Using a spridget as a daily
driver may work out just fine for you. Just lube, lube, lube! Sorry to hear
about the divorce.

Jeff
