Paint Removal

I know this subject has been done to death but I wanted get some input
on local (S.F. Bay Area) paint removal specialists. I got two quotes,
one from a "media" blaster ($550 complete) and one from a stripper ($500
just for the tub). At these prices I'll put I some elbow grease and
strip it by hand. Anybody have a better idea. I like the idea of getting
back a nice clean body to start with but I paid not much more than this
for my car!
