If you all want to go and buy a cheap torque wrench with a life time
guarantee from 'Tools Iv'e not heard of' then that is your choice. After you
have made your purchase let me know how accurate it is - accuracy being the
name of the game in torque wrenches. I have in the past, had cheap tools
with a lifetime guarantee - the UK importer went bust and I had to haggle
with the new UK importer to get a replacement part. I also have a No-Name
compression tester that someone bust when I lent it to them. I subsequently
found that the only writing on the box and instructions contained therein
that wasn't included was the address of the supplier so I couldn't have the
part (one small press button valve switch) replaced.
As for the fancy truck and door to door service - no such thing in the UK.
The vans are leased and the dealers self employed. The service is from
garage to garage.
For myself I can't afford a Snap-On torque wrench but make do with a
reputable brand that is accurate and has remained so. I guess any guarantee
it had ran out long ago but it remains accurate and serviceable.
