The way that I used to do the 180 degree from reverse ( in snow ) was to:
- get up speed in reverse
- lock up the brakes
- crank the steering wheel
- release the brakes
- when the car gets turning sufficiently ( practice to know when ), lock up
the brakes
- straighten the wheel
- get forward gear
- unlock the brakes
- drive
