  Indeed!

  Actual "grounds" have high resistance and are really
only useful for two things.

  You can use them as a reference for what 0V is on a
system that is also grounded (like a house). Even though
it won't take much current the reference point is
there.

  You can use them to bleed off static for something
like fueling up an airplane. (static electricity is
high voltage/low current).
