Cap'n Bob,
I do understand "suck it and see" But am I to believe that most of the
enthusiasts running 1/4 elliptic cars have done nothing better than some trial
and error ? After 40+ years is there not a basic high performance suspension
formula suitable for the street ? We know that the car is over sprung in the
back by some 20%. I'm looking for a good proven starting point...I'm not trying
to beat Tom Colby ;-) On the other hand...Perhaps a call to Mr. Colby would be
a good idea ? (I am planning to use one of his Panhard rods)

Mark...

As with tuning Weber 45DCOE's, this is
gonna be a little bit of "suck it and see".

You can tune out minor variations in
"oversteer/understeer" by varying tire
pressure fore/aft ratio within certain
parameters and the panhard bar should
"tighten up" the rear despite softer
springing which BTW, should result
in a much nicer ride considering the
rear was "oversprung" to begin with.

Let us know how you make out with
this set-up.
