Pre-lit is common these days (look for LEDs next year), I want one where the
trunk is up against the wall and the branches just cover 180* instead of the
full 360*. Perfect for smaller rooms, condos, partments, etc. It would take
a little engineering of the stand to triangulate the weight properly, but
not that big of a deal.
Speaking of pre-lit trees, a friend of mine was just telling me about the
pre-lit tree she bought for her company last year. Worked great, but she was
too busy to take it down in January, so she told one of the guys working for
her to take care of it. Four hours later she noticed that she had not seen
Pervez since... He finally came back in and was just amazed at what a fine
job she had done wrapping the lights around the branches like that. Yup! now
they get to think about Pervez every year when they put up the tree that
USED to be pre-lit.
