Nope. Beginning with spec analysis done at the shop, they (du Pont labs)
mixed three different formulae until there was a match with the virgin
paint. I was simply the ignorant beneficiary of a "challenge" to a lot of
good people. The one thing I do know is that I could have never afforded
the actual time and effort they put into meeting that "personal challenge"!
Personally, I think Frank Clarici hit the nail on the head when he said,
"Now let's get real, unless you park next to an old english white bugeye,
new from the dealer and that never saw the sun, who's going to know the
difference?"
I guess that only those who want to play the concours game really care.
Me, I always said I didn't want a concours car, just one that looked like
mine was when I bought it. New. And believe me, a brand new off the
assembly line Sprite could not win a concours competition.
