Jim, I thoroughly enjoyed the 2-3-8 race including the lottery start. I think
part of the reason is I got the priviledge of starting nearer the back. We
were running 2 and 3 abreast for the first lap or two. Maybe even 4 abreast if
you count WST running on the grass after being run off by a certain big
healy... I like the idea of using this as a mechanism for increasing track
time by combining more cars that are similar in speed. I also like the larger
field that this generates. When I first heard about it, I figured we'd have
the usual group 2 race and an additional 2-3-8 race. However, if we are able
to generate more practice and race time by having us combined, I'm all for it.
Theoretically, if you combine the group 2 and 8 races and practices, we'd have
double the track time with twice as many cars out there as we would otherwise.
Some of my good dices in the past have been with group 8 cars in enduros... I
don't really pay much attention to finishing position, so the scrambled start
worked for me.

I thank you for all of your work in getting Thicko village staked out, getting
the 2-3-8 race on the schedule and those wonderful meatball sandwiches!
