Hey Guys, I did this last weekend.
YES, the water pump will have to come off.
The dipstick tube is another obstacle I forgot about until I heard a scraping
sound.

Since I have headers, the exhaust removal is not a problem on my car.
What condition is yours in ? Just tell the wife it was old & needed replacing
anyway.

Remember, you're not lowering the motor so much as lifting the body.
Once the motor mounts are removed, you have some freedom to move the motor
around within the engine bay. I'll bet you can get everything  by the right
pipe.

As to the removal of the hood (bonnet) , why is this necessary when the
assembly is coming out of the bottom ??
