Hello Jeff,

SoCalSAAC would love to have you, and anyone else on this list, as a member.
(Hmmm. This brings to mind an old Groucho Marx quote.) You don't need to own any
car in order to be a member.

I joined two years ago. It is a bunch of regular guys with no pretense. There
are several real Shelby Mustangs, 1 or 2 Cobras, several replica Shelby
Mustangs, several replica Cobras, 2-3 TVR Griffiths, a couple of replica GT-40s,
Panteras, and 1 Tiger, I think. I have taken my Contemporary to "SAAC Does
Vegas" for the last two years and the car is received very well. We are not made
to feel like outcasts.

We have a meeting on the third thursday of each month at The Hamburger Factory,
14122 Midland rd., Poway. They rope off some of the parking lot for us, and many
of us bring our cars to the meeting. You don't need to be a member to attend.
Stop by and have dinner with us. The next meeting is March 18th at 7:00pm. Most
of the time is spent talking cars and picking up hints. 15 min is spent on
business. We also try to have one outing each month. These include things like a
cruise to Symbolic Motors for a behind the scene tour (you should see their
shop), Julian for lunch, Temecula winery, Coronado races car corral, assistance
with the Torrey pines concourse and hill climb, and several trips each year to
the Willow Springs track. When the local club goes to Willow, you can bring any
kind car that you like. When we attend with COCOA in May and October, the only
requirement is that the car be Ford powered. This November we will be assisting
with the San Diego Grand Prix. This is the last race of the season for the
American Le Mans series. Also racing will be the seniors tour. 25-30 vintage
drivers in identical new Shelby 4000 series cars. It should include Bondurant,
Phil Hill, Pete Brock, and I think Hurly and Brian Redman. It will be held on
Harbor drive and Pacific highway in front of the Star of India. A womans only
series will also be there. The will be driving identical Panoz's.

Hope to se you at the meeting,

Craig Wright
