Steve,
Your header interference with side filters is not unique. There just is no
room.
Too bad about loosing the original, because that's the best solution. Have seen
some using the remote filter adapters and hoses for the filter, sometimes in the
same location as the original, but upside-down so the oil comes out on the
engine
when you change it faster than the original.
Not sure what is used at the block, but there may be an equivalent after market
adapter for remote oil coolers and filters that fits. Wait for the comments of
those that did it.
