Jeff, a reasonable attempt at theft deterrence can be made very simply. The 
first thing I did was to install a second dimmer switch above the original 
and out of view that simply turns off the ignition, a toggle on the dash that 
turns off the fuel pump and one other thing I won't tell anyone about. The 
toggle on the dash is like hiding a tree in the forrest and works well, being 
hidden in plain sight. Good luck
