I saw a really impressive looking Grant wood wheel at a local auto parts
place, and I think that someone on this list (Larry Wright?) discovered that
they do have an adapter to fit Sunbeams. So you might want to consider all
the effort vs. your woodworking skills vs. the cost of an aftermarket wheel,
before making any decisions.
I was able to refinish my stock wheel a bunch of years back, and since I'm
nearly a foot shorter than Al, I fit fine. Still, a fatter version of the
original would feel nicer. Hmmmm...there's an opportunity for a hobby
business. Any takers?
