Tom and Frank,

My rebuilt Tiger Mk II 4 spd. top loader transmission, with dual bolt
holes for 5 and 6 bolt block bell housings, works like a dream. The
rebuilder ( a Cobra race car specialist) recommended a 90W gear oil to
"break it in" for 1,000 miles. Worked fine, shifted fine. He then
said it should be drained completely, and $10/qt. synthetic GEAR oil be
substituted. What I thought was "fine" immediately became quieter,
shifted even easier and slicker.

A simple change of the front external input shaft bearing housing, and
the "other" 4 holes is a bolt-on conversion to a 6 bolt V-8 and housing
(easy to get).
