Hello,

First the question: Did Tigers have the same horns as Alpines? And what were
they?

Background:
a) Wm. Carroll's Tiger book said (sadly no B.O.N. here) they were Clear
Hooters model 725
b) Tiger Service manual says they are Clear Hooters
c) Parts manual give Alpine two different part numbers for horns "Series III
onwards
                                        # 1800587 low
                                        # 1800578 high
d) Parts manual Tiger Supplement gives part numbers for normal Tigers U.S. Mk
1 and II as
                                       # 1224772 low
                                       # 1224773 high

Why would Rootes give a different part number for the same horn? Logiccf says
they must be different. Further, a parts price list circa 1969 gives very
different prices for Alpine #'s (higher) than the Tiger (about 35% lower).

So, bright people, what is the scoop? Are they Alpine type? Clear Hooters,
Lucas or what?
Pretty arcane, I know, but it would help me out.

Best to all,

Jim Armstrong
