I'll put my request first, then tell my tale of woe. Anybody have a pair of
working OEM horns they are willing to part with? Are Rick's non-OEM horns
the same size and with the same mounts as the originals?
I tried to install Tim's panels to block off the horn openings to improve
the cooling. I was having a hell of a time for what appeared to be a simple
procedure. I started working on the driver side, since it wasn't hidden
under the washer bottle. Since I just couldn't figure out how to make it
work, I checked the passenger side for reference, and realized the horns are
not identical. They are very similar and almost exactly the same size (both
Clear Hooters), but the mounts are different, hence the driver side horn
doesn't work with Tim's panels. So I installed the passenger side panel and
horn, but discovered that the horn barely works. Bummer. So I'd really
like to get two working horns that fit with Tim's panels. If OEM (new or
used) aren't available, I'll buy Rick's if they will work with Tim's panels.
Anybody have experience with this? Thanks.
