Right you are, John! (And I didn't even pay him to say that!) Trouble 
is, it's getting tough to find Herald (or Vitesse/Sport 6 -- coolest of 
the cool) convertibles in usable shape at much less than double or 
triple that $1,000 figure noted by Ross.

Of course, those of us who are TRULY COOL[tm] would gratefully choose the 
saloon body style, oft overlooked in search of the mythical Convertible. 
Saloons are, in fact, much scarcer in the U.S. than are convertibles (at 
least when new, probably still now), but they are left alone, hopefully 
someday to be found by TRULY COOL[tm] folks. ;-)
