Randy...

You may have seen my other reply in regards to RUST...

Another note for you....

If the person you're buying from has established a presence here... it
is doubtful that he would try to rip you off... and risk losing his
repuation within the newsgroup...

In addition... in regards to amounts larger than what you're willing to
lose in LAS VEGAS...

In the case where I really don't KNOW the party... I do prefer to leave
some sort of motivator for the person to follow through... so splitting
up the payments is wise... i.e. you send 500 bucks for a
transmission... well... that guy has to find a box for it.. load it,
pack it, seal it, address it, coordinate with the shippers... If he's
already got the money in the bank... and he's the type that always used
to turn in his school projects late.... you can't expect that he'll be
any different now, even if he's 50... he may just procrastinate... and
it could take months of letter writing to get him off his couch... EVEN
THOUGH THE GUY TRULY NEVER INTENDED TO CHEAT YOU.... it's just human
nature... and, what can also happen... as you write him, trying to get
him to follow through... he ends up being the type that reads that as
NAGGING... and he just procrastinates all the more, because this is how
he reacted to him MOM's nagging!
