As I will have to face the same task soon (possibly very soon), I have a
few dumb questions.

1. Apart from the wobble in the steering wheel, do worn bushings cause any
permanent damage or steering problems?

2. Is it the shaft or the tube which has to be removed?

3. Why does the steering lock have to be removed for the bushings to be
replaced? I would expect the steering shaft to simply slide out of the
tube with the steering unlocked.

Perhaps I need to look at the manual.
