Jay, Congratulations. You are having better luck than I am - even though I
was offering advice. I can't get the high horn to work at all.
Listers - I connected the high horn to a power source with a ground and
adjusted the screw in both directions and never even got a sound. Do these
die? Any other advice for the high horn before I go to look for a new one.
If the advice is to buy a new one - shall I work with the big 3 or go to the
local automotive store. If the local store, what shall I ask for???
Moreover, here's the real mystery. The low horn is in place and adjusted.
It works wonderfully most MORNINGS. I try it again at night and nothing (not
even a relay click). I try the next morning and it works fine. That night -
nothing. This has been going on for 1-2 weeks! I have cleaned and checked
with a meter the steering ground near the fire wall, replaced the two wires
at the rubber steering shaft coupling and cleaned and checked the single
black wire on top of the steering rack. What am I missing?

According to the Haynes manual - yes.
The manual sugests turnign the adjustment screw until you hear nothing.
Then
turn back counterclockwise 1/4 turn for the optimal setting.
