Dishwashing Carbs!

Hi Listers,

a colleague mentioned he knows a guy who puts his carbs through the
dishwasher and that the method really de-gunges them.  Has anyone tried
this?  My good Lady has indicated she would be happy for me to try this in
the DW, as long as the carbs were in there by themselves.

I have a set of 3 x Weber 40 DCOEs I need to clean up before I install them
in my GT6!!!
