Gee, when the two combatants--in what should have long ago become a private
email exchange--informed the whole list:

"I'm not going to argue with someone 
 who just says . . ."

and

"Good for you, I'm not going to argue 
 with someone [who] . . .

I'd have thought that'd be the long overdue end of what had turned into a
personal squabble.

What a fool I was! Now we're being treated to a public exchange of "****
you!"s.

Shall we move on . . .? Perhaps to an extended and acrimonious discussion of
the finer points of granting free-trade status to China?
