I am considering using Mobil 1 (5W50) at the next oil change. My TR6
develops oil pressure of 80 psi @ 1400 rpm cold, 50 psi @ 1400 rpm
and 25 @ 800 rpm hot. Sometime soon I will have to replace the
bearing. Would Mobil 1 be better or worse than the Catrol GTX that I
have used in the past, or no significant difference. I believe that
the lower cold viscosity of Mobil 1 should improve the oil flow on
start up, provided the oil pressure does not drop substantially. Any
opinions?
