Hello Michael,
Instead of using a head bolt to lift the engine, I fabricated a bracket
 that attached to two manifold bolts, and attached the engine hoist 
to that. Worked great, even with the tranny attached.

Is it really bad idea to remove one head bolt (rear, next to the heater
valve), install the bracket, and re-torque? I'm planning NO engine work so
the head will not otherwise be removed. Can I get away with this or am I
asking for trouble? Engine won't be started for quite some time...maybe
between now and then, it'll forget that I loosened the bolt? :^)
