That's probably fine too, but I've started several of them right on the
garage floor. Obviously, don't try to rev them up quickly, but they will
sit and run quite nicely just balanced on the oil pan. I've only tried it
with the tranny attached, perhaps without it you'd need a 2x6 under the
front to keep the engine from rocking forward.
