hi Brad

Ah, the joys of "tuning" SUs (could be worse - could be Webers - memories of
CanAm races, watching the carb gurus selecting jets from suitcase sized
kits). Any reason you went with BBE needles instead of the BAEs TriumphTune
suggests? What about switching damper springs (AUC1167 acording to TT) as
with the hotter cam it's probably going to take a deeper breath when you
snap the throttles open - want a little more damping in there to richen up
the mix when you do. Have you checked out
http://users.netaccess.co.nz/triumphclub/su_carbs.html
? Pretty comprehensive. Looks like I may have an Oxygen analyser in my
future.

How thick is the TT adapter plate? Did you open up the manifold to match the
1.75 carb bores or are the adapters reasonably well tapered?

Sorry - no suggestions on the distributor set-up - havent started down that
long dark tea time of the soul yet. Fortunately the club has a couple of
VERY good Brits mechanics who came up through the system over there, plus
several racers with extensive past LBC experience - I plan to do a lot of
brain picking.

I envy your Quaife and overdrive - beyond my current budget unfortunately
(heck, the budget got blown shortly after the first catalogue arrived).

Please keep me informed as you get things sorted out - good luck.

Scott
