Years ago when I bought my TR some data entry person repeated
the last three characters of the VIN. I did not worry about it
until I wanted to start restoring it last spring. It was not
running so I had to have a county deputy come by and check the
number and sign a paper. I then filed for a new title. It came
through as a trailmoble the first time. The guy at the DMV thought
that was very funny, as he seemed to know what a TR was. He made
a call and got a new title sent. The DMV here in IL used to have
a bad reputation for being very hard to work with, in this instance
they were very helpful.
