Nah, it's fine.  The motors are required to have thermal cutouts.  If the
voltage were low enough to cause problems, you'd be blowing the thermal
cutout.

The other symptom you can listen for is the motor speed constantly changing
up and down.  If the line voltage drops low enough to cause problems, the
motor will slow down until the start winding kicks back in, and then speed
up until it drops out again.  This cycle is what burns up motors during a
brown-out, since the start winding is not designed for continuous operation.

Depends on too many variables, there is no single answer.

If you want a "stress test", try starting both motors at the same time, with
air already in the tanks.  If they can both start at once, your line will
supply plenty of power to keep them running.

BTW, I think you would get more airflow by running the compressors in
parallel, instead of series.  Assuming you're only shooting for 90 psi, that
is.
