Hi Guy,
Looking at the pics and descripts at your TR4A website your progress looking
real good. Looks like your 86mm piston liner set is really 87mms, eh? (ie;
040 marked on top of pistons would indicate 40 thousandths over which is
virtually 87mm).
But my question is, have you ever sent for the British Heritage Certificate?
Just curious if your Overdrive transmission came with that car - the 'L' and
'O' stamp on your ID plate look slightly different than the other
letter/numbers to me (so I'm wondering) but what I really want to know is would
the factory
install that additional 5lb anti-vibration weight on your transmission's tail
even if your tranny came with a 25lb OD gearbox! I believe the added weight
device was to dampen vibration but doesn't make sense to have one when the
optional overdrive unit weighs another 25 lbs!
That's the kind of thing a PO might do ... transfer the weight from a non-OD
tranny to a OD tranny. So do you have the actual build certificate?
Keep up the great work .. and your great website.
Regards,
Carl

Listers,

As of this writing, I have the crankshaft and liners in the block and I am
ready to add the pistons and rods. I've got the procedure defined and it is
only a matter of making the time to get started.

I've added a page to the project site that deals with liners and pistons,
but for now it's only covers the liners. I'll add content for the pistons as
soon as they are in.
Find this at

As always, thanks to all of you on the list that have been such a big help
to me.
Cheers,
