Depends on the formulation (everything is more complicated when you get into 
it) but suffice to say the type of ceramic used on exhaust manifolds is 
formulated to reduce heat transfer into the engine compartment.  Better than 
header 
wrap since the wrap can get saturated with oil and whatnot.

Plus the ceramic is good for 1200 or 1300 degrees.
