Guess it's time for the fluif debate again ... first brake fluid and now
motor oil.  Next we'll do trunnions <g>

I like Valvoline full synthetic 20W50.  But I live in southern California
where it never freezes.  If I lived farther north, I might try 10W30.

I can't prove it, but it's my feeling that the full synthetic offers better
wear protection than conventional oil; which let me get by for many years on
a tired engine built out of used parts (literally).  I also stretch the
change interval out to 5000 miles (or more if I forget), which helps
compensate for the increased price.

Others have reported that synthetic increased their oil consumption, but
that hasn't been my experience.  In fact, on an old Chevy, it actually cut
consumption by a factor of 4 or 5.  But the TRs mostly leak oil rather than
burning it, and the synthetic leaks just like the dinosaur juice does (in
the same weight).
