Most of the time problems with Pertronix are poor ground.
The instructions and ease of installation call for attaching ground to the =
coil, but when there is trouble, connect to a good body ground or direct to=
 the battery ground.  It often sorts out all sorts of "gremlins."  But all =
electronic ignitions are very voltage sensitive - if your voltage drops too=
 low, they will not function, unlike points that just require enough to get=
 some sort of spark.
