I recall the story of Smoky Unick who built a 7/8 th scale stock car for
Daytona.


When the templates would not fit, Smoky said, Hell put the templates on
that there car in the parking lot.  Sure enough, the templates did not
fit and the tech inspector figured the templates had been cut wrong.

Problem was, Smoky had built a matching street machine and parked it
right where it was sure to be measured too.

Smoky stories make most "urban legends" sound tame.
