I never thought I would own one. I am a purist in the strictest since.
But last night, I was rummaging through the classified ads and saw a
Sunbeam Alpine for $500. After talking to the guy for a few minutes,
he told me that the original engine had been taken out and a Capri V6
had been dropped in. The car has been hit in the right front, but runs
well... I bought it!
I am planning on picking it up on Saturday. I don't know whether the
fender can be beat out. It is pretty badly damaged. I am strongly
considering taking it to the body shop and let them work their
wonders. I don't know the specifics on the engine and trans yet, but
after I get it home, I'll find out.
What can you tell me about the Capri? Does anyone have a right side
front fender for a Series V if I need it? I would like to get this
road worthy as soon as possible and put the III in the shop for a LONG
overdue complete restoration.
So lets see, I have 3 Sunbeams now, my brother has one and my dad has
one.
Gary, I still want those parts.
