All,
I recently had a new bushings pressed into the trunnions on my III GT as well as
having the swivel pin pressed into the axle carrier. I (mistakenly) assumed that
I would then be able to just slide the trunnion over the threaded part of the
swivel pin and lock it down. However, when I tried to do that it would not budge
and the thread looked like it would do some serious damage to the new bushing. I
pulled out the old swivel pin and tried to put it on over the top of the swivel
pin and no louck that way either. Does the trunnion have to be pressed on to the
swivel pin before the pin is pressed into the axle carrier? I wouldn't think
that this should be such a tight fit as the trunnion has to rotate on the swivel
pin.
You can refer to http://www.mindspring.com/~teae/pasm.htm as a refererence.
Thanks,
